So what is this 500 Yammy group?

The venerable XT/TT500 Yamaha - the big single reinvented by the Japanese. And wasn't she a beauty? If like us you love these old beasts, this is the group for you. So come on in - start or join a discussion, post a photo or even just comment.

How do groups work? Well, it's kind of like a separate area or room within the main site. Each group has a dedicated discussion forum where you can post or reply to posts, and a comment wall on which you can post a general comment or add a photo. Just keep it all in line with the group's theme. This group is for anyone into 500 Yamahas...

Hi Curtis I just checked back in on the site. I have an Xt TT 500 with a standard front end and rear. If you would like a swap at least the front end I could be interested. Send me an email to discuss. Do you have a spare tank by any chance ?

Cheers

So I bought a 78 XT500 recently, its got a early 80s YZ front end and modified rear end to fit. Im not really looking for long wheel travel as I want to dirt track this bike. Does anyone have a original rear end or front end or roller they want to get rid off? And does anyone want to buy YZ front end 43mm forks? I also have a 1980 RM400 swing arm!

Hi All 500 groupies I just got my old 500 back from the shop and it now runs. It was an XT but I would like to set it up as a TT so i am looking for guards, some plastics etc. Was there any real difference in the engines ?

Any info would be very helpful

Cheers

I've got a bit of stuff I want to get rid of, modified PE swingarm, airbox, tank, forks, some other stuff I need to dig out and a heap of ideas that don't work. Seriously, I can probably save you a lot of dramas.

Cheers
