Events > QVMX 2007 Round 2 QVMX 2007 Series - Round 2Round 2 at Caboolture Story and photos Yet another great day of racing as eighty-one riders put their bikes to the test at Rocksberg. We say goodbye to QVMX Club President Harvey Nash, who due to personal reasons resigned earlier this month. A lot goes into these club meetings, time and effort freely given by what seems to be a select group of dedicated members. Newcomer to VMX #81 Nick Newson approached the track with caution but confidence. Having never rode competition before, or his RM125c Suzuki, (rebuilt by strictly husky rider #109 Gary McDonald) Nick soon warmed to the track and was wrapped with the performance of his bike. Simon Broad marked #M for "mystery" had no problem taking to the track on either his YZ or CZ. Simon's another one of those riders you like to watch, he reminds me of the phantom, swift and silent but not invisible. The track produced a lot of dust, but it didn't cloud the spirit of the riders, or the spectators who once again got to see some awesome riding. A few riders overshot the first corner, which was tight to the right and dropped from a small rise, then followed by a tight left. A long fast straight at the back, with a couple of good gullies made it great fun for the riders, in general the track was a good mix of everything. A few spills; however nothing to serious, the worst being an ankle injury. Once again, it was an excellent day for QVMX. Thanks to all volunteers and members who give their time for these events. The next meeting is 6th May at Coles Creek just another one of the best Natural Terrain tracks here in sunny Queensland. Jackie Mac
