QVMX 2005 Series - Round 5

The QVMX Club held Round 5 of their 2005 series at Rocksberg on 4 September 2005. This event also included a round of the Pre 85 Challenge Series. Cokeman brings us up to date on yet another successful QVMX meeting.

Qvmx round 5 Rocksberg was just fabulous. A little low on numbers but we had nearly 40 riders who had a great days riding.

The track was awsome so these pics are more of the terrain just to make you southeners even more jealous. No major accidents or injuries the track was a little dusty in spots but everyone rode to the conditions.

A grassy start straight lead into 180 degrees left hand turn followed by a right hand off camber sweeper. Down and up a gully to a set of sweeping left/right corners through some citrus trees. Back down a right hand drop off then up another gully into a sharp left hand corner onto a short straight that lead into a left / right across the walls of a dry creek bed into a small g-out back out and up 2 jumps into a left hand dropoff.

Back up another gully into a tight left, down to a righthand off camber then across the road to a
wicked hillclimb (some guys actually danced with their bikes going up the hill) across the top and
around and down a huge bowl section back to the finish straight. And of course all on green, green grass this is what natural terrain VMX is all about.
