Events > 'Double the Dirt' 2007 Top Weekend for BMCC's Double the Dirt 2007The Brisbane Motorcycle Club held a special event over the weekend of 7/8 July 2007 - the 'Double the Dirt' feast of vintage dirt track and motocross action. As always, Jackiemac was on the scene to file this report. Read on for Jackie's story and photos, click here to see some more photos from Graham Newton. I can't speak for Saturday as I was unable to make it, but Sunday was a ripper. The day started with bacon and egg burgers, hot coffee and five laps for practice. After grading the track and making a few minor changes to the layout, it was transformed into an excellent track, with an ideal surface for vintage motocross. In the pits everyone seemed more than happy with the track, my husband describing it as being 'horn baby horn' Big thanks to Doug Sharples, Steve Maxwell, and everyone else for all the time, and hard work which they devote to this club. It was good to see Donny Thornton and the crew up from down south; I think Donny went home happy especially after winning the raffle. It was a great day of racing for everyone, no matter what the age from young rider #12 Brandon Wollenweber aged only 17, to #44 Donny Newell aged 75 who showed us on Sunday that he's still quick off the start. Don't forget that Helen and Cliff have their food van at all the meetings now, the food is good and so is the service. The next meeting for BMCC is August 12th. Jackiemac
